2021 DBEI & CCEB Research Day Recap

Thanks to all who joined us virtually as we showcased the highlights of our work in our third annual Research Day, on March 24!  Research Day is a joint project of the DBEI and the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. While we missed seeing everyone in person, we were excited to feature a well-attended program and robust online content.

Our opening session featured four faculty talks. View video of Sean Hennessy, PharmD, PhD (epidemiology), Hongzhe Li, PhD (biostatistics), Blanca Himes, PhD (informatics), and Pamela Shaw, PhD (biostatistics).

Ten flash talks by our trainees closed out the morning session. Find them with the   label in our Research Day gallery.

Capping off the day was our keynote, “Population Health: Making Science Matter," by Sue Curry, PhD, our Brian L. Strom Visiting Professorship lecturer. Dr. Curry, a former Chair of the US Preventive Services Task Force, is recognized internationally for her expertise in behavioral science and in translation of research findings into health policy.

About Us

To understand health and disease today, we need new thinking and novel science —the kind  we create when multiple disciplines work together from the ground up. That is why this department has put forward a bold vision in population-health science: a single academic home for biostatistics, epidemiology and informatics. MORE
